Established in 2005, RMD Pain and Palliative Care Trust is one of the leading institutions in palliative care in Tamil Nadu. Since its inception, the Trust has worked on providing pain relief and palliative care to terminally ill and geriatric patients belonging to lower socio-economic groups. The Trust is primarily focused on:
- Establishing, running and maintaining palliative care hospitals & hospices
- Providing education and training in palliative care for doctors, nurses, community social workers and health assistants to ensure availability of skilled staff for the larger palliative care sector
- Creating awareness in the community on palliative and hospice care
